Melasma is a common disorder of pigmentation, more often acquired by women. It is associated with light brown to dark brown patches that appear on the cheeks, forehead, chin, and upper lip.
The cause is thought to be multifactorial, with genetic and environmental factors playing a role. These include ultraviolet and visible light, pregnancy, use of oral contraceptives and hormonal therapy, medications, heat and several other causes as well.
During a consultation with us, we strive to evaluate your medical history, understand your exposures and craft a comprehensive treatment plan including topical, oral, and laser therapies.
For the appropriate patient, we offer laser therapy with Candela PicoWay® and Clear and Brilliant® to reduce unwanted pigment and improve overall complexion
